1. Controller and contact
Lingito is operated by Pavel Kopecký, business ID 71272739, Vokrojova 3342/3, 143 00 Prague 4, Czech Republic, who is the personal data controller. For privacy questions, contact team@albisoft.cz.
2. Learning and data on your device
Lingito does not require an account, login, name, email address or telephone number. Learning progress, exercise history and language settings are stored on your device so the app can remember your progress. Lingito does not provide cloud progress synchronisation. Backups depend on your device settings.
3. Purchases and app stores
The App Store or Google Play processes payments and subscriptions. Lingito uses information about your purchases to provide paid content and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment card number or security code. Account and payment data is processed under the relevant store’s privacy policy.
4. Pronunciation and microphone
You start pronunciation recognition by tapping the microphone after granting the required system permissions. A service available on your device performs recognition and may process audio on its provider’s servers. Lingito evaluates the recognised text on your device and does not store pronunciation recordings or transcripts. You can skip the exercise. Apple provides recognition on iOS; Android uses the provider available on your device. The provider’s processing and retention are governed by its policies. You can change permissions in your device settings.
5. Error reports — Firebase Crashlytics
Lingito uses Google’s Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix errors. Reports include technical information about the error, device and app version. They may also contain an installation or player identifier, language settings and learning activity. Lingito does not attach pronunciation recordings or transcripts to reports. Google retains these records and associated identifiers for 90 days before starting to remove them.
6. Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics is disabled in the current version. Older versions may use it to understand how people use the app and where we can improve it. Analytics events may include app activity, such as completed exercises or learning progress. Lingito does not use Firebase Analytics for advertising or ad personalisation. Lingito does not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, or other directly identifying information to Firebase Analytics. Firebase Analytics data is handled according to Google and Firebase retention settings and policies.
7. Purposes and legal bases
We use data to provide app features and paid content, fix errors and handle support enquiries. Processing necessary to perform a contract is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Error resolution, security and routine support are based on our legitimate interest in a reliable service under Article 6(1)(f). Legal obligations are addressed under Article 6(1)(c). Where processing is based on consent under Article 6(1)(a), you can withdraw it.
8. Who receives your data
Depending on the feature used, data is processed by Apple, Google/Firebase and the speech-recognition provider. Their own services are governed by their privacy policies, linked below. When you contact support, we process your email address and message. Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Google uses safeguards described in its documentation for data transfers, such as standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data.
9. Retention, deletion and your rights
You can delete learning data in the app or device settings; backups depend on your device settings. Resetting progress or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Store and recognition-provider data is retained under their policies. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the enquiry and related claims or legal obligations. Under applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. Contact team@albisoft.cz. You can also complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection or your local supervisory authority.
10. Children
Children can use Lingito. We do not collect a date of birth or age. Parents and guardians can manage device permissions and store accounts and contact us about their child’s data. The Terms of Use explain purchases by minors.
11. Website and policy changes
The website provides information about the app and does not require registration. We will publish changes to this policy on this page with an updated date.
